Gutrid Ullasdottir grew up in a very small fishing village with her mother, Ulla, and her older brother, Hjortstein. Life was simple and not always pleasant, but she could always count on the friendship from her brother to raise her spirits. She started learning the craft of boat making from her mother at a very young age, and often would spend her days sitting on the docks listening to travelers tell tales and sing songs. She would love tell stories of the gods and fairytale creatures to anyone who would listen.
After her brother left on a raiding mission to England and was believed to have been killed in battle, Gutrid’s mother died, leaving her alone. Gutrid then took the few things she had and set out to find herself a new home and a new family. After traversing the woods for a time, she happened to stumble across Jarl Aesa’s camp, and was given the position as the Jarl’s personal ship builder. When she’s not mending or building boats, Gutrid still enjoys telling tales of the gods and creatures that inhabit their land. And now that her brother has returned from England (alive), she feels she has made a new home here in camp with a large family. |
